It lets you easily verify the digital signature of any document.

If you are working on documents that come from external sources, sometimes they have been signed digitally. But the problem is, how do you know the signature is authentic? If you want to know, then you need a specialized program like this one, called JavaSign. As you might be able to gather by now, JavaSign is a software written in Java that works to compute the digital signature of documents, and so verify them securely and reliably.

To do this JavaSign uses a key card or "token" file in p12 format. It also works with ISO 7816-4 compliant smart cards. It uses encryption and decryption functions based on PKCS #15 compliant cards.

JavaSign has two function modes. The first performs digital signature/ verification operations using your computer's smart card, and can be configured to use the cryptoki library (which comes from the card seller). It can also get this information from an internal Java driver that performs apdu commands. The second one is, as previously mentioned, using an external file in the standard p12 format.
